Cosmic EVTOL

Problem / Brief

Cities are congested and short journeys take disproportionately long by car. Cosmic asks what an aerial equivalent of ordering a ride would look like, autonomous, licence-free, and fast enough that a 15-minute flight replaces an hour-long drive.

Research

The concept sits inside a layered city transport system: rooftop landing pads on upper-level buildings, dedicated aerial commuting routes above the street grid, and mobility hubs that coordinate passenger transfer between rooftops, an AI-managed flight network handling routing so no human pilot is required.

Iterations

Development worked through the pod's core systems in parallel, dual eVTOL thrust engines with retractable propellers for compact rooftop footprint, a two-seat cockpit under a panoramic glass dome for the ergonomics and sense of openness a short flight still needs to feel worthwhile, and a hydrogen-electric powertrain for the range and turnaround time a ride-share duty cycle demands.

Outcome

The experience is designed to work exactly like ordering a car: open the app, reserve, pay, and take a 15-minute aerial trip instead of an hour-long surface one. Folding landing gear and a rooftop mobility hub let the pod approach, land, board, and depart with minimal ground infrastructure, boarding is a step-in sequence through the raised canopy rather than a conventional door.
