Jaguar E-Type R

Problem / Brief

Jaguar's own heritage is one of its strongest assets, and the E-Type in particular remains one of the most instantly recognisable sports car silhouettes ever produced. The question behind this project was simple: what would the next generation after the E-Type and F-Type look like if Jaguar had kept following its own most successful design DNA in order, rather than stepping away from it?

Research

The starting point was a close study of the E-Type's proportions, the long, tapering bonnet, the low glasshouse, the compact rear deck, and how those same fundamentals carried through, evolved, into the F-Type. Both cars were used as direct proportion references rather than loose mood-board inspiration, identifying which elements were non-negotiable heritage cues and which had room to move.

Iterations

Development worked to keep the E-Type's long-bonnet, short-tail stance intact while updating the surfacing language to something contemporary, sharper light graphics, a lower and wider stance, and a cleaner surface treatment that reads as modern without losing the original's sense of length and tension over the front wheels.

Outcome

The result is a car intended to sit exactly where a real next-generation E-Type would: unmistakably part of the same bloodline as the original and the F-Type, but resolved with the surfacing and proportion language of a contemporary flagship, classic proportions, modern elegance.
